The Northern Virginia Chapter covers the Virginia counties and cities in the vicinity of Washington, DC, including Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, and Prince William counties, and the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church.
The Chapter monitors events in these jurisdictions for early warnings of the encroachment of religion into governmental affairs, including county and city boards of supervisors, school boards, and library boards. The Chapter contributes Church and State subscriptions to local library branches, and sponsors information booths at regional PTA meetings. The Chapter additionally sponsors lectures and holds public discussions on issues relating to the separation of church and state.
The Northern Virginia Chapter works closely with the Virginia Chapter in monitoring and reacting to legislative initiatives in Richmond that might adversely affect the separation of church and state in Virginia.
